Not too long ago, someone I had not seen since that time told me he was always associating the thought of me with that soundtrack.

I don't really like my 14 year old self. That year was the worst of my life (father getting ill, learning mother had an affair, parents divorcing, selling our beloved home...) I think my 14 year-old self was a bit numb and reacting to all of that by doing quite dumb things.

My 12/13 year old self was cuter and more interesting, dramatically listening to British alternative music in my room, writing, dreaming of a more intense life, thinking no one understood me.Marie-Èvehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00174894872050076618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392075129624872794.post-38313248934291060302009-10-01T03:11:51.637+01:002009-10-01T03:11:51.637+01:00I love this post.

It's funny how many of us say "I'll never do that to my kids!" Then of course we end up doing them because we now have unforeseen wisdom or we realize we have to implement some rules for kids.

Oh dear the early teenage years and high school - awkward and strange times. I remember finding out that my best friend at the time was cutting me down and hooking up with a guy I almost went out with. I guess that's kind of what I was alluding to with 'friendship issues' but it's still sad to hear that your memories are still so raw.

I think young teenage girls in particular have an ability to be so very cruel without realising the impact it has on others.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15452082852708707013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392075129624872794.post-42223852709452712652009-09-28T14:12:09.191+01:002009-09-28T14:12:09.191+01:00I think my 14 year old self was going through bein...I think my 14 year old self was going through being bullied at school. I never did keep a diary but I remember that time pretty rawly still. I did find some angsty writings when I was last at home, the venom of which surprised me.
