One Lovely Blog Award

Rosalie from Tea & Whimsey has given me this award.

The rules are that I now have to choose 15 of my favourite blogs to pass on this award. Actually, they are supposed to be newly discovered blogs, but sadly, I haven't really had time recently to discover many new things at all, so I am going to ignore that part and award:

One picture, one poem, one song...

One picture, one poem, one song, one quote, one item of clothing, one place and one disney princess... Yes, another meme for which I wasn't tagged. But we were invited to play along too, if we fancied, so I did. Am. Whatever.

Here are my choices:

One Picture...

One Poem...

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over
{John Masefield (1878-1967)}

One Song...

{Supposed to be Shine on you Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd - but I cannot get Youtube to embed, or whatever it is called}

One Quote...

"Grab a chance and you won't be sorry for a might-have-been"

{Arthur Ransome (We Didn't Mean To Go To Sea)}

One Piece of Clothing...

{Vintage Dress from Nikita Jade - sadly sold out before I got my new job}

One Place...

Polzeath, Cornwall. The deck of the Blue Tomato Cafe and a glass of wine.

One Disney Princess...

Shh, can you keep a secret? I have only ever seen Fantasia and The Lion King. Pocahontas too I believe, maybe. I don't really recall any princesses. I am not really one for Disney, or princesses. So no choice here...

"choose your own award" Award

A girl was having some trouble. You see, she had been awarded an award by a fellow blogger (along side many other talented writers). An award for being one of the bloggers "who were the first ones who inspired me, assisted me, made me think and wonder and feel not so all alone in the frothy world of bridal blogging". This girl was very pleased to be listed, and in such illustrious company too, but she didn't know what she do, which award she should pick nor who she should nominate in return.
The choices were threefold:
1.
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends.
They are not interested in self-aggrandizement.
Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated.
Please give more attention to these writers.
Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more
and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

2.

The Uber Amazing Blog Award is a blog award given to sites who:
- inspire you
- make you smile and laugh
- give you amazing information
- are a great read
- have an amazing design

The rules of this award are:
Put the logo on your blog or post
Nominate at least 5 blogs that for you are Uber Amazing!
Let them know that they have received this Uber Amazing award by commenting on their blog
Share the love and link to this post and to the person you received your award from.
3.
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show great attitude and/or gratitude.
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received the award.

But which one to choose? Was her blog "exceedingly charming" or inspiring or did it show great attitude. This girl wasn't sure, really, she wasn't. So she decided to post all three but not choose any of them.
And in turn, nominate some of her favourite blogs:

I've Been Pseudo Tagged...

...by Peonies, who extended the tagging to anyone that cared to join in.

Today I have:-

1. Gone to work and done lots of it;

2. Worn new shoes;

3. Gone to a powerplating class; and

4. Bought and watched Sex and the City the film.

To do:-

1. Sort out meeting with vendor of Whatevertheyares - she is now not answering the telephone either;

2. Backlog of laundry, some of which is left over from the sailing holiday. Was forced to put the heating on yesterday evening to get things dry - some clothes were still damp despite being washed at the start of last week. It's not good for the clothes, the house or my sanity...;

3. Thank you letters to friends and family for the engagement presents we received at the weekend;

4. Write a new to-do list, one that doesn't make me feel like I am about to explode.

Guilty Pleasures:-

1. Reading Vogue or Tatler stood up in the kitchen with a cup of tea;

2. Designer shoes from e-bay (top quality shoes at Topshop prices);

3. Sex and the City;

4. Facebooking stalking other peoples weddings (usually at lunchtime).

Random Facts:-

1. I am finding it hard not to wear my wedding shoes - I have had to hide them;

2. I would rather go barefoot than wear odd socks;

3. If I am early it is a surprise to everyone including myself;

4. My favourite drink is a cup of tea. Unless champagne is on offer.

I tag:-

1. CeeCee

2. Posies and Pearls

3. Red Frame

4. Baby, picture this

Not tagged but borrowed

Peony was tagged a few months ago to write 4 things about herself you didn't know. She complied but then changed the rules to read 4 things you didn't know about your betrothed. She didn't tag me (I wasn't a bride-to-be then, so my boy was simply a boy) but I thought I would join in the fun.

There are already plenty of things that you didn't know about me that you do now so I will jump straight to my boy: 4 things you didn't know about M:

1. When we first met he didn't want a girlfriend. Seven years and 4 months on and he shall have a wife. Of course, he just hadn't met anyone who he liked enough to be his girlfriend rather than not wanting a girlfriend per se. It just sounds better the other way.

2. He is a fantastic cook and provides the vast majority of the meals in our household. He also does the washing up, for which I cannot thank him enough. The provision of regular meals and the subsequent washing up are two of my most hated household chores. Funnily enough I don't mind doing the washing, cleaning the bathroom, loo cleaning, toiletry and cleaning product provision, ironing or mending. So it works rather well.

M is the one in the pink jumper

3. I love the fact that he only wears trainers to play football. He sometimes wears converse if we go raving or partying and spends much of the summer in flip flops but the rest of the time he wears proper shoes; beautiful shoes.

4. He has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of music and films and can always be counted on to select the right music for the occasion. Much like the BestMan and my boy's longest and best-est friend. Causes a fair few arguments over whose turn it is with the ipod though...

And one thing I'm sure you did know: I love him, I think he's fab and I can't wait to be his wife!
