Hhhmmm

...
Apparently, I am going to look dated very quickly in my wedding photos. According to Kacey "if you look like a walking fad...like some of this year's brides with the enormous skirt with pick-ups, AND the criss-cross bodice, AND the colored sash, AND the colored shoes, AND the super trendy jewelry, AND the drop veil, AND the modern bouquet, AND the trendy hairdo, etc...the look will be dated before you know it".

To be honest, I don't know what a pick-up, a criss-cross bodice or a drop veil is so I can't be sure whether I have that or not, but I am planning a coloured sash, coloured shoes, my engagement ring is coloured which seems to be 'on-trend', my bouquet is modern and I haven't decided on the hair-do yet.

So does this mean I will look dated before I know it? Do I care? Should I care?

Oh, and I have chosen a strapless A-line dress with a coloured sash. This seems to be the final nail in my coffin of my dated wedding look...

Ah but if you don't look modern then you look weird and old fashioned which is even stranger. Every wedding dates but who cares, it's a time in your life when that is what suits you. And as long as you like it and it's beautiful on you then pah to people who talk about fads.

I've seen your dress, and it's not what she was talking about. I'm sorry you were offended by my post. I've seen your little sneak peek and your dress is beautiful!

My mother wore a folksy silk smocked dress with green ribbons all over it for her wedding - so seventies but beautiful and her at that moment in her life. The last thing anyone should worry about is being dated - be yourself and you're bound to be a beautiful and unique bride that you're kids will love looking at pictures of!

Jenna - I was in no way offended by your post, just a couple of the comments which made me think.

I think in some ways it is better for a look to be dated because it is capturing that one day in your life, not the whole of your marriage.

Thanks LB and Bells as well. Support which is much appreciated when one is stressing over dress choices!

I know this is a very late comment, but exactly as everyone says NOTHING is completely timeless and the aim with your wedding attire is not to be trendy/fashionable/cool/so cool that you're not trendy/fashionable/cool, it is simply to look and feel beautiful on the day. And you will. xxx

Meh, I wouldn't care if it does look dated. It's gonna look dated in 30 years, and so what! :) Look good today!
